SHAKEN DRINKS

Filibuster cocktail

Difficulty: Intermediate

2 ounces rye whiskey

3/4 ounce lemon juice

1/2 ounce maple syrup, Grade B

1/2 ounce egg white or 1 small egg white

Method: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake. Add ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass. To garnish, dash Angostura bitters decoratively over top of the cocktail or add a rosemary sprig.

A whiskey sour with a kick of spice from the rye whiskey and a little bit of nice from the maple syrup.

Ramos Gin Fizz

Difficulty: Expert

2 ounces gin

1/2 ounce lemon juice

1/2 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup (1:1, sugar:water)

3 dashes orange flower water

1 ounce cream

1 egg white

2 ounces soda water

Garnish: half an orange wheel

Method: Add all ingredients except for soda to a cocktail shaker. Shake for a full minute without ice. Add ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a highball glass and top with soda water. Garnish with half an orange peel.

Pumpkin Martini

Difficulty: Novice

2 oz vanilla vodka

1 oz bourbon cream liqueur

3/4 oz pumpkin spice liqueur

1/2 oz heavy cream

Garnish: caramel rim with cinnamon sugar

Method: Take a chilled glass and dip into a caramel syrup and cinnamon sugar mixture and set aside. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into the glass and add a dusting of cinnamon sugar.


STIRRED DRINKS

Diificulty: Intermediate

2 oz bourbon

.5 oz Punt e Mes Vermouth

.5 oz Ramazzotti Amaro

2 dash apricot or peach bitters

1 dash spiced cherry bitters

barspoon gum syrup (Liber & Co)

Garnish: grapefruit peel

Method: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and add ice. Stir until properly diluted. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish.
